Unity recently made a Tilt Brush SDK and I was curious if Unreal Engine could also work with Tilt Brush assets. Without using a third party software, Unreal only recognizes the background canvases used to store Tilt Brush information, so importing the .fbx file will only bring in planes.
I decided to play around with these background canvases, since the overall shape of the larger Tilt Brush assets were still recognizable. I painted a bunch of concentric spheres that could wrap around the VR pawn and the main building in the scene and a few particle systems (the dots brush) that gave me a long string of floating planes. I then assigned the glass material to the tilt brush spheres and a mapbox material to the particle strings and matched the audio to the environment.
