My first exploration of Unity is a weird one. To grow more comfortable with writing Unity scripts in C#, I created a dancing avatar, Derp the Alien. He loves to dance and can switch from “The Shopping Cart” to breakdancing with user control). I also used this small project to test an idea I’ve held onto for too long: to create an environment that grew and shrank around a character (the reality is actually the opposite - Derp grows and shrinks). In this silly one-off, a user dances Derp through time and space.
