A series of AR experiments focusing specifically on immersive painting. The paintings were created independently with either Tilt Brush or Quill and developed in Unity and Unreal Engine with the ARkit SDK. In the beginning I explored applying "wrong" materials to Tilt Brush paintings to create glass, mirror, video, etc. paint stroke effects. I then discovered a method of animating paintings with Quill and experimented with animating the real world with content specific paintings.
I'm continuing this research for my thesis project at ITP, where I'm creating speculative mixed reality environments with immersive paintings.
