About

While exploring pixel manipulation in Processing, I wanted to make a painting application with some custom functions for my mixed-media practice. A good amount of this project was getting familiar with the types of effects possible by changing pixel colors and positions.

After playing around with a few value threshold dependent effects, I repurposed Danny Rozin's code that recorded a video in  a given area and could create an array of floating and looping video clips. I'm sure many of these expressions are standard for anyone exploring this environment, but one effect I did come to like was a tonal watercolor brush I made. After picking a base color (from on off screen color picker), the user could record video or images from a camera input as a soft, monotone watercolor painting.
